PROGRAMS THAT FIT YOUR NEEDS AND YOUR BUDGET

Whether you are new to volleyball or a seasoned athlete, CCVC has a program that will fit you.  Our Summer League is more like a Recreational League while our Club Teams offer competition at a variety of levels.  Within our Club Teams, Local and Regional options exist that allow families to control travel costs, while still offering the challenge needed for an athlete to grow.

SUMMER LEAGUE

Classic City Volleyball Club Summer League is just around the corner! With a combination of skills-based instruction for the newer athlete and weekly scrimmages for the intermediate and advanced athletes, it offers a fun environment that keeps everyone moving forward.

Summer League offers multiple options based on the skill level of the athlete.  Club Level coaches provide guidance at all levels to help new players with fundamentals and enable experienced athletes the opportunity to continue their growth and  prepare for the upcoming Club Season or Middle / High School season.

Summer League begins June 3rd and runs 8 weeks until July 26th, with activities every Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Each night is divided into 3 sessions:

  • Session A:  Skills training for beginner athletes or athletes who are still learning the game.
    • Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6p-7p
  • Sessions B & C:  Scrimmages for athletes that have experience on an organized recreational, school, or club team.
    • Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7p-8p or from 8p-9p.
    • Sessions will rotate between the 7p and 8p hour depending on the scrimmage schedule.

The $250 fee covers all 16 one-hour sessions during June and July and each athlete will receive a CCVC shirt.

Session A athletes will begin by learning basic volleyball skills, positioning and techniques.  Over the 8-week season, they will work up to scrimmages towards the end of Summer League. Session B & C athletes will be divided into multiple teams with varying skill levels so that scrimmages will be more even.  These teams will spend most sessions scrimmaging each other based on a rotating schedule.

All sessions will be held at The Bridge Community Church, 973 Prince Ave, Athens, GA 30606. If signups exceed the available slots at the church, the YWCO at 962 Research Drive will be used for added capacity.

FAQs:

Q: Do I have to attend all sessions? We may be on vacation some weeks.

A: Not a problem; we anticipate families to not be at every session based on vacation plans.  Teams will have enough players to cover these situations. No refunds will be given for missed sessions.

Q: Can players move between sessions?

A: Once a player is assigned to a session and a team, they will be part of that team for the season.

Summer Clinics

Summer Clinics will be available during the Summer League season.  Clinics target specific skills and either rotate through a series of skills or can be scheduled for one-on-one activities.  The group sessions have attendance caps that provide a high coach to athlete ratio.
